Careful music industry analysis has songtress Mariah Carey projected to collect her 18th No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. Although, according to Billboard.com, “Touch My Body” (the debut track from her 11th studio album, E=MC2) was at No. 15 on the most recent survey, digital download availability should propel Carey to one slot ahead of Elvis Presley on the list of artists with the most No. 1s. UK export, The Beatles holds the record with 20. Does Carey think about the science behind her music?
“I do, because people bring it up,” she told Billboard.com. “But it’s not like I sit around thinking about that type of stuff while I’m creating something.” |
